We had hand scanners at work. If you had: band aids, wet hands (includes blood), cold hands or damaged hands they wouldn't recognize you. Plus the every now and then incident where you held evil thoughts in your mind.

This is why I'd never use one. A few years ago someone came out with a holster for police that read the Officer's thumb print. During a demonstration a tactics instructor intentionally cut his finger and the holster locked up. Idea died right there.
 
I have three safes. One has a dial lock and the other two have digital. I've never had any trouble with any of them and I've had them many years. Of course, I went with top notch safes with top notch locking devices. If you went with some cheap China made stuff, don't expect sympathy from me!
