Venezuela bans private gun ownership

With Chavez in charge, I'm not surprised, but saddened.

The president there is a Marxist and a an admirer of Fidel Castro. He's turned Venezuela into another Cuba.

In a truely marxist state, there would be no need to outlaw private gun ownership. Just proves that "for the people" is just a line of BS and they pretend to adhear to a line of political ideology that celebrates the working man while they gather all the power up for themselves.

Venezuela Bans private ownership of guns

What really puzzles me about that Country is the fact that we all know the Dictator does not like the USA and yet some Americans still buy his Citgo brand of gasoline, his attitude is bad enough without some of us helping to fund his regime. I am also saddened by this development, never a good thing to have the people disarmed and at the mercy of corruption.

Did it ever occur to you that has would be $7/gal if we didnt buy oil from Venezuela? That oil does not just go into Citgo gas, pretty much all the refineries on the gulf coast use oil from there in some capacity

Do you shop at Wal-Mart? 99% of everything there is made in China. Which is worse?

Indeed, but Marxism requires that people will fundamentally change their perpsective on resource usage in the way that a Marxist citizen will innately seek what is right for them to own, and not to pursue excess. That kind of 'education' is impossible to achieve without force-otherwise those who pursue excess will be rewarded without punishment at the expense of the collective. The state cannot employ force effectively against armed members of its own population, which is why for the State to be able to access resources, they cannot be guarded by private owners armed with rifles.

Ergo, in a real world Marxist state citizen disarmament is a mandatory requirement, if only for the practical fact that its difficult to take property "for the people" from private citizens who are armed.

I agree in general with your statement, except I would say this: Look at post-Katrina New Orleans and their little exercise in violating the entire town's 2nd amendment civil rights. In many cases directly causing collateral damage to persons and property.

Without an individuals' refusal to forfeit his private property to a government, what good is the 2nd Amendment? Glad I dont live in Venezuela- but if I did, guess who wouldnt be taking my property?

Chavez is dying of cancer. His days are numbered. The government is preparing for post-Chavez Venezuela. By disarming the citizens, they are reducing the armed citizen's revolution against the post-Chavez Communist government. Don't be surprised if Cuban military "advisors" are "invited" to help suppress a citizen's revolt.
