Took the revolvers out and pretty much sat on the bed of the pickup truck plinking at 25 and 50 yard targets. A total change from my usual training.
Haven't just gone plinking in forever.
Did do some one handed DAO 3X5" card patterning at 15 yards for some hand loads load I brought then setup and started ringing steel at distance.... yeah the card says 686.. I know its a 586.
My 4" model 19 and the 6" model 586 are tack drivers.
The 442 j frame I can hit out to 25.....50? Sometimes.
The model 29 with magnum loads is dead on like a laser beam. Especially with specials.
Shot magnums, specials, and bunches of loads. Probably went through 500 rounds.
Pretty much went out by myself, found a new spot WAY far away from people up a dead end wash with only one entrance about 20 min from the house and spent about four hours out there plinking and reflecting. Just like I used to as a kid with my 22's.
Brought the 7x12 steel targets so I could work on accuracy. Left the bigger ones at home. Again my stands worked great.
Here is the 6" 586 being a tack driver on those 7x12 steel targets. Missed that last shot at 50

Pretty much this is what I did for hours. Plink, go downrange to inspect, repaint and do it again.

They were pretty well used before I called it a day and went home to spend another hour or so cleaning them
Was a very good day, away from the family, but with my Smith family.
