Victory S# help

I got the smith and wesson standard catalog and have not had any help with finding the date of my S#. I dont want to spend $50 to S&W to find out some mundane fact not worth the $. The # is V176*** and has only one piss pot on the butt with the lanyard swivel.

Page 142 of the SCSW (3rd edition) will get you in the ballpark.
Serials ran from V1 in 1942 to V769000 in late 1944.

Welcome to the forum. Your Victory is very likely to have shipped in December 1942 or perhaps early in 1943.

David is correct, close serial numbers to your gun shipped in Dec. 1942, if it's a military gun. If it was a civilan shipped gun, there could be a slight difference in the dates. Ed.
