I'm selling my Victory and need help in determining a fair selling price. I looked on Gunbroker and saw some pretty awful examples with starting bids of 600 or so. Mine is marked U.S Property G.H.D. It has a 4 inch barrel, all numbers match-barrel, frame and cylinder- and is chambered for 38 Special. Ser no is 359060. The overall condition is excellent with very little edge wear, very faint drag lines. It appears that it was rarely used. I would prefer selling to a fellow forum member rather than going on Gunbroker.

It sounds like a standard military-shipped US Victory specimen. Stocks matching too? Nice examples of those are fairly common, so condition is everything. A like-new unissued gun, all-matching, could bring 500 - 600, but you might have to wait a while. Some months ago I was (literally) shocked to see a quite nice Maritime Commssion Victory with letter go for under 350 on Gunbroker. I'd have jumped in if I had realized in time how little interest there was.

Good pictures are everything, especially if you want to sell it here. Realistically, someone might bite in the 400-plus range if it looks good.

Thanks Absalom. The stocks are NOS and are unnumbered. I bought it with plastic horn stocks and purchased the NOS ones from a S&W collector in CA. If I can figure out how to do it, I will post pictures.
