Howdy folks, a native son here(Henrico Co.). Where's y'alls favorite place to shoot?? I usually hit the federal wildlife range outside of Blacksburg or the Potts Slope range west of Roanoke. I'm in search of somewhere closer to Richmond,so that the money spent on gas & range fees can be spent on ammunition instead.

Colonial Shooting Academy on West Broad Street (East of 64 on Broad) is a great place. Brand new, and state of the art.

Dominion off Midlothian Turnpike, across from the State Police HQ, behind Southern Police Equipment.

I forget the name, but there is a range in the Black Creek area of Hanover. That's out toward Mechanicsville.

There's another indoor range in Colonial Heights, just north of the bridge into Petersburg on Jeff Davis Highway.

The state has ranges at the Amelia and Chickhominy WMA's. Those are rifle/shotgun only, no handguns.

I am a member of the Rappahanock Pistol and Rifle Club located in White Stone, Va., probably 15 miles or so from West Point/Saluda. It's a pretty good club, 25 yard pistol range, 50 and 100 yard rifle ranges, and a trap field.

$100 a year dues, plus a $300 initiation fee for new members, so the first check you have to write is $400.

Open 365 days a year, 9:00 AM till sunset....
