vltor a5 use

I have a rifle with a factory moe a2 stock on it and wanted to go to a collapsing stock. Has anyone personally used the vltor a5 extension tube with a factory buffer and spring?

Does anyone know if factory replacement parts are available from smith since I have read alot of them are not. If the vltor a5 is the same length and will work it will be a good option as well.
