Has anybody used this scope on there 15-22, and what is your review on it.

Also what rings would you use, and do you need a high riser.

I have several Vortex and another on the way. Typically with an AR I will mount a variable scope on a cantilever mount which gives me the height and clearance I need plus it gives you a longer "window" in which to achieve the optimum eye-relief. I really like the AMD Recon for both it's quality and QD feature. A bit pricey as are other really nice ones. I also have a Vortex cantilver that works just fine but does not have the QD. And it's cheaper. I have the 2-inch offset on two Crossfire IIs though it also comes in 3". Some folks who push their nose to the charging handle like the 3". Vortex Optics - Sport Cantilever 30 mm Mount 2-Inch Offset.

I had the Strike Eagle 1x6 on my 15-22 for a while. I liked it so well it is now on my favorite AR-15. Currently my 15-22 wears a Vortex Strikefire II red dot. The strike eagle I have is mounted on an Aero Precision cantilevered super lightweight scope mount SPR. This mount places the scope at the correct height for an AR type rifle. With the straight, adjustable buttstock you will not get a good cheekweld with low mounts or rings like you would use on a conventional rifle with a drop stock.

Vortex makes a good scope and you would be happy with it.

You may also want to consider a Primary Arms 1-6X made specifically for the .22LR round. Many PA optics are made in the same factory as Vortex scopes. If memory serves, the PA is a little bit cheaper as well.

My brother in law has one on an M&P15 with the Troy rail. Works very good in a Burris PEPR mount. Its heavy as can be though. Would add a lot of weight to a 15-22, but if that didn't bother you, it would work well. There are better options though in my opinion.

I'm running a Vortex Strikefire II red/green dot on one 15-22 and a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 on the other.

I have other Vortex scopes on my AR15 & AR10. I've always felt that the Vortex glass was a great bang for the buck.

Good luck with your optics choice!

I have one the same as in the picture. I understand that there is a version for .22 which has finer adjustment compared to the AR.223 as shown.

I have many rifles that I put top of the line scopes on them as I hunt with them or have them set up for defense if ever needed. On 22LR rifles that I have I buy a decent scope in the 1x6 power range for plinking at the range and letting my grand kids shoot it. If I won't hunt with it I won't spend big bucks on optics on it.

I'm a U.K. shooter & have a Strike Eagle on mine, love it & it's perfect for our 3 Gun shooting competitions.
