Being a CZ afficiando, I wanted one of these when CZ-USA first started selling them 6-7 years ago. I looked at them at that time but thought to myself I'll get one later. CZ-USA only sold them for a couple years and then they were gone, couldn't find one anywhere.

D-Technik built these for CZ-USA using new milled receivers and surplus Czech parts. In order to comply with the onerous 922(r) it could have no more than 10 imported parts and had to have at least 5 US made parts. After CZ-USA discontinued the VZ58, D-Technik continued to build them in CZ and sell them in the US under the name Czechpoint. I think the only difference was in the packaging, same box and contents only one was printed CZ-USA and the other Czechpoint.

I was able to finally try it out yesterday and must say it's a shooter. Can't wait to take it out again, my wife even said she'd like to shoot it and I almost fell over. She's never done that before, was always indifferent to my addiction. She picked it up, shouldered it, looked down the sights and said that it felt really comfortable. I think the whole thing boiled down to recoil. It hardly has any.

They are very cool little rifles.

I have two of them.
