So I just ordered a new belt scabbard for my Trr8 today. 14-16week wait with Kramer leather. This is my 3rd buy with them. I don’t mind waiting for quality, but man it gets long lol. I’m on week 18 for my gp100 5 inch Thomas perfectionist. Told me a month ago “second week in July”. Called today and “we’re behind. Maybe another week or so”. Ok ok. I get it. The new Trr8 scabbard hopefully comes at thanksgiving. I’d like to carry it hunting this year. I hear the milt sparks wait times is what 1.5 years? Order it and forget about it and then suprize! Honey you got a package! ??? “A package for me? I didn’t order anything..”. Oh wow. Nice! What’s your waiting stories? I’d be curious to hear them

I use DelFatti and Sparks leather.

The last Milt Sparks holster involved waiting a little over a year. DelFatti takes much longer.

It’s worth it though. I don’t need new leather very often (one of the holsters I use I bought from Milt Sparks in 1980). My first DelFatti took about 2.5 years.

Note that there are custom features in my holsters, so these aren’t off the rack or mass produced items. Custom work takes time.

2.5 years I’d have to have something to use in the mean time. Like this Trr8 I’ll try to find something cheap to get by with while I wait. When I do try a cheapie to get by it really shows you how good GOOD gunleather is!!! My belt scabbard for 3 inch king cobra I forget I’m wearing it sometimes!

I use small leathercrafters to make my leather. I know what I want and if they say they can make it, I give them a try. A couple of them did not get it right and they bought the leather back. The ones that get it right, get repeat business.

The big guys usually don’t know how to make leather to my satisfaction.

I know I could get into making holsters and probably be pretty good at it but I don’t have the time and don’t want to invest in all the equipment.

Time is a problem. It don't take much equipment.
Making your own has it's advantages in that the only time I have to wait is finding the time to make one.

Ol’ Tom was right. It’s going to mini xmas when this new one comes in here soon.

I once waited over a year for a Brommeland to fit an M&P, and when I called the order had been lost. But, they “knew” they’d lost it, and got right on it! A month later I got a package, opened it up, and it’s for a 1911 Commander. I called and explained, got another apology, and while we were talking they’d looked me up and discovered that I’d “only” ordered for 1911’s in the past. They asked me keep it if I could use it (still have it!), and I had a new professional grade (ordered service) for my M&P later that same month.
There’s problems, we all have them; but it’s how they’re handled that is memorable. And it is my opinion that the more gracious and patient we are, the better the chances of a good outcome (& story too!).

I'm in the same waiting-for-my-Kramer boat. Ordered a belt scabbard for my Colt Three Fifty-Seven and a belt in March. Estimated ship date was early July. Called 'em a coupla days ago and they said, as above, that they were running late, but hoped to ship by the end of the month.

It's my first Kramer. (Well, other than a pocket holster.) To date I've bought Mitch Rosen pancakes, which I like a lot. Looking forward to it.

Kramer has always had a backlog - even many years ago. Mitch Rosen's stuff really is excellent but if you like his, you will like Kramer's even better. Kramer's Horsehide holsters are thinner & lighter but stiffer and stronger. No need for the bulk. Kramer's retention is also top notch with no gimmicks - just a perfect fit.

I know waiting can be frustrating, however at least it has been my experience with many orders it was worth the wait. Hopefully you will have the same experience.

In the meantime here’s some pictures whilst we wait! Lol
