Wal-Mart ! They had .380 ammo today but wouldn't let me buy any !!!

Howdee all,

I feel for all those out there no matter where you live. I know that one defends his/her home state with vigor and passion. I believe we all should help support (in any way we can) all of our fellow shooters/hunters in the eradication of laws that limit our 2nd amendment rights and those accessories that go with them up to a certain point of course. (I am in no need to have a nuclear device in my basement too defend myself)

I was a former resident on the great state of New York for the first 27 years of my life and have very good memories of the people, places, and activities that I was involved in. I enjoyed very much the trips I went on in my youth to hunt and fish with my dad and uncles. I look at my life now and have forgotten the hoops that I had to go through to get the permit, add guns, and transport guns to and from places and realize I don't have to go through that anymore here in Georgia. Yes it is true that I can buy three handguns in any caliber in the next half hour and be shooting them within the next 15 minutes after the purchase, along with buying just about any mag or accessory I wish to put on a firearm and can go out into my garage and get ammo that I purchased without anything more that hard-earned greenbacks: BUT, I would like to join the club that wished to abolish silly laws that in my opinion hurts only LAW-ABIDING people in the exempts by many liberal people and politicians to get rid of guns in America. We can choose to sit back and ridicule people and their states/cities or we can start to take back the rich traditions so very fought and died for by our forefathers and state we will not stand for living in fear, tyranny, and oppression. It states with one--and another person willing to support it-- them a few more-- and so on. We can change the current trend of what I would call the demonization of firearms, having our kids brought up in a world with no place for guns except for what they see in the movies or silly-ass videos on the internet of STUPID idiots showing off their guns in forms like: too much gun, dropping big caliber guns, blowing up non-targets, shooting unsafely and any other ways people can destroy our American history and love affair with the firearm. I personally have stopped hunting, but I don't think of myself as "BETTER" than those who do. I believe in the right to own anything you wish if you are responsible and law-abiding. I see the "yea-buts" at my club with the idea of the shot gunner as being elitist and the semi auto-large capacity guy as being a dumb "redneck" or "terrorist" I don't like certain laws for certain guns or type of guns.

A long rant summarized------ WE ALL NEED TO SUPPORT GOOD GUN EDICATE AND POPULARIZE THE FIREARM AGAIN BEFORE THESE SILLY LAWS COME TO OUR BACKYARD AND RENDER THE FIRARM A DISTANT MEMORY OF OLD MEN AND DREAMS OF THE YOUNG TO TRY TO IMAGINE THE THRILL OF THEIR FIRST SHOT OR HUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you're jerking my chain, I'm a big boy. My post was just a general reaction to the incessant bullc^^p about NY. I was told by my wife's cousin that we DO need to visit Oregon, a beautiful State. May do that someday, Lord willing.

Well said!

OK, Bob, I'll take a stab at it. NYC, LI, Rockland and Westchester amount to about 10 million votes, mostly liberal. Then add in some of the major metro areas upstate and you're at probably 11-12 million.
Thanks, I did not know that. I had assumed that Long Island once you got east of Queens and Westchester County were mostly conservative. You'd think people with enough money to live in those areas would understand capitalism and all that.

I have lived in the mountains.
I have lived near the ocean and
I now live in the Midwest.
I have lived in large cities and
in towns quite small.

I've enjoyed clam bakes in New England and
fresh green chile in the barrios of Tucson.

I've sat in awe as a Papago explained his way of life and
felt the same sense of wonder as a Cajun explained his.

Well said jbouwens, I'm just tired of law-abiding citizens putting up with crap that a minority of people think we need so we don't go crazy with our evil guns. Like the requirement in New York that every new handgun sale MUST come with a factory fired case. This fired case is sent to Albany where it is recorded and put in storage for identification purposes if ever used in a crime. So what if this wonderful NY law and database has never led to even one conviction, let's maintain that multi-million dollar facility and database so we can all be safe and happy ! That's why we law-abiding criminals use revolvers, no brass empties lying around to be used as evidence ! And NY only allows 10 round mags in semi-autos anyway..... don't get me started about that. I think I'll go buy myself a Ruger Charger .22lr to make myself feel better. Oh, what's that ??? The Ruger can't be sold in NY because it's considered a weapon of mass destruction ! Are you freakin' kiddin' me ??? If Ruger would sell it without the bipod installed we could buy one because it would then be light weight enough, but they won't do that. Screw it, I'll just go take a happy pill or have a drink, Shoo

No problem bro. I too love my country and would fight to the death to protect my flag. I served my Country for 4 years and would end up in jail if I ever saw one POS disrespect my flag by burning it or whatever. I just hate having the ideas of idiots without a clue forcing their crap on me and my brothers. It may not be perfect, but it is still the best place in the world, Shoo
Every time one of you New Yorkers Pitches a "B" about how Wally World or somewhere else, did "this" to me, you do make it sound like it is State Law, especially when you whip out your License and say here it is. Either stay the "H" out of Wally World or learn to play by "their" Rules. Going back to the same place over and over again and then making it sound like it is their fault that you went in there it REALLY, REALLY Stupid. I guess you're just a really slow learner!!!
KKG the problem with these places is that they don't post thier rules. One time you go in they say you need your permit to buy handgun ammo. (not state law but company policy) Then the next time you show up with your permit they won't sell you ammo because you don't have that caliber weapon on your permit.

So I suggest that not only all New Yorkers but all shooters stick together. If a certain retailer has thier own "gun rules" don't buy there because they aren't helping our cause.
They are just in it for the money. That's one reason I refuse to buy from Sportsman's Guide. They wouldn't send me a pellet pistol I wanted to purchase or pre-ban mags which were both legal in my area. If they can't take the time to learn the laws in the states of thier customers I can't take the time to purchase thier products.
