Was watching an episode of WTR and I noticed the Chuck Norris had switched to a cross draw and a revolver...looks like a M27 Nickel...what do you eagle eyed fellow forum members say?

Next question, is he used what appears to be a Beretta 92 in some episodes as well...any one know why the change?

Cordell Walker used a Beretta 92FS Inox, a S&W 27, and a S&W 629 over the course of the Walker, Texas Ranger series.
Trivette carried a Walther P5, which I always thought was odd.

And all four of those firearms exhibited incredibly accurate one-shot stops, often into the teeth of overwhelming full-auto return fire!

Walker carried a 4" 629 in his crossdraw holster until one episode in which he drew his revolver and the cylinder fell off.

It was replaced by a Taurus, Beretta 92 look-a-like with black pearl grips inlaid with a "Ranger" badge.

The Walker character seems loosely based on his "Lone Wolf McQuade" movie role. He carried a 6" n-frame (model 29?) in that one as I recall, in a cross-draw rig. There was one scene where he was sitting with some other Texas Rangers, the guy next to him was packing a 1911 in a tanker-style holster like the one El Paso Saddlery sells. Very cool.

.

Did that happen "in the episode", as part of the storyline, or are you being facetious?

I do, however, recally that danged Taurus. Should've been sportin' something American, dang it! :D
