I was out cruizing our local Super Wally World tonight in good ole Lawton/Fort Sill Oklahoma, and I always swing through the sporting good section to see what ammo is being stocked and to see if there are any other items of interest.

Well wouldn't you know it, there sitting in the gun case for sale is an M&P 15-22 (Standard w/25 round mag) listed at $395. Looks like Wally is stepping up their game and trying to expand their inventory beyond just hunting style rifles. Wounder if they will price match on weapons?

To add extra icing on the cake, when I spun the magic wheel on the case to see more, a Taurus Circuit Judge appeared in my view at a price of $495. Damn thing nearly jumped in my cart. If it hasn't found a home by this weekend, I might just have to sign the adoption papers and bring her home. Most places around here want $550+.

At our second Super Wally World, they are now stocking Ruger 10/22 mags and Mossberg International Plinkster mags. Hope Wally continues with this trend and that it begins to spread to all Wally Worlds across the US. We shall see...

Very cool! I think I heard that maybeee some CA stores will be getting in some guns. Talk around the grape vine

I heard rumors of China-Mart getting back into the actual sell of guns...but this is good news indeed. I guess since their AirSoft and folding knives along with other hunting and shooting sports items are selling so well they might as well expand.

I think it is the same deal as some of them no longer stocking guns at all. It's store by store as to what they will or will not stock. But it is good to hear than at least one of them is getting better.

The Walmarts in my area sell a lot of American made ammo.

The Target Stores in my area sell the same Chinese stuff that Walmart sells, only at a higher price.

Target sells no ammo.

Our small town rural Wally World super store sells no guns whatsoever, and what little ammo they have, they keep hidden from the eyes of any customer that might want to buy it. Mostly they only carry a little RF 22, and some 12/20 ga stuff. Their ammo stock is always low and often completely out. I guess the store manager is anti-gun.

a call to customer service can probably fix that, regardless of the manager's views.

walmart is the ideal version of capitalism that our founding fathers envisioned.

make a better mouse trap or sell the same one for less and they will come......make money, invest, diversify, expand, rule.

walmart is the place to go for bullets to bread.

This would be kind of weird. I buy my ammo at gun shops but from what I hear, buying ammo from Walmart can be awkward. I think most of the stores here have their ammo behind a counter so you need to ask for help. Kept hearing that there has been employee issues with that, can't imagine how much of a headache it would be if Tommy from the auto parts section also works behind the gun counter lol

Try it here in Illinois, where the employee has to have a state issued Firearms Owner ID card to even touch the ammo. It is in a locked case and in some cases the manager who has the key doesn't have a FOID, so (s)he has to unlock the case so Tommy from auto parts can take it out and ring it up.

Bleh. I prefer buying my ammo at the gun shop although ordering 500 rounds of 9mm online sometime soon.

both our local Wal-Marts stopped selling guns a few years ago. Rimfire ammo and shotgun shells are out in the open but centerfire handgun rounds are locked up. Hornaday 17HMR at Wal-Mart is $3.00 more per box than at the local farm supply store.

Our Wal-Mart Supercenter also stocks both rifles/shotguns and ammo! Before, I'd never volunteer to go help with the shopping...now they say "Hi Danny...how many boxes of .22 ammo do you need today?" My town doesn't have a gun shop so I was glad to see them handling guns/ammo again!

yeah, it is annoying. ours doesn't even have a gun counter, just a locked case of ammo in sporting goods. i can honestly say the avg wait to get someone with a key can be 15-20 min. sometimes worse... but i only know 2 other places to get ammo cheaper, and both are over an hour away. not worth the drive for just a bulk box or 2. the local shops here in most cases cost 20% - 40% more for the same ammo

as much as i try to avoid buisness with Wal Mart its just a fact that they have unbeatable prices on quite a few things that it just doesnt make sense to pay more for--ammo and targets--

Our Walley World carries the Ammo in a Glass Case, and is usually pretty well stocked. I buy a couple of boxes of 9mm, .22LR and maybe 380 if I'm running low, just to keep it stocked up. Unfortunately, our Super Store doesn't carry Guns any longer. They started phasing them out over the last couple of years. All they have now are the Air Guns.

Funny thing is, if I go to a neighboring town 14 miles away, the same exact Ammo at their Walley World is $3 higher per box. I said what the hell one day, and asked them if they "Price Match". When they said sure-do, I told them I wanted a 100 Round Box of Win 9mm and a 555 Round Box of Win .22LR. When they asked where was the Ad for the Price Match, I told them to call the Walley World in my town..... they have it for $3 less. They did call to verify, and after getting the Manager's ok, they sold it to me for my stores price. However, the next time I went back there, the price still hadn't changed. Guess they're gonna still keep ripping folks off for $3 a Box. Hmmmm!

Cheers!

BB
