Just left WM where I found boxes of Federal Champion 115 grain 9mm 100 rounds for $18.97. Under $100 for 500 rounds. Much better than the local gun show this weekend. They had 16 or so boxes on the shelf. They now have 3 less boxes there.....

No, brass cased. Probably boxer primed but still reloadable. It's a 100 round value pack. That is the cheapest I've found around the Tampa area. Even when they have Perfecta it's $9.99 or more. Also no wait for shipping. Immediate satisfaction, to me at least. Was at the Fairgrounds Sat and reloads were $139 or more for 500 rounds and they were reloads. Here it's under $100 for 500 rounds new stuff.

Meh

I can get that price daily with free shipping online for blazer brass. No sales tax either
This ^

I can get 1000k rounds delivered for under $200. If I don't have any then yes i have to wait but otherwise I have thousands more so waiting for this for a few days is not an issue

I hardly ever go to Walmart for ammo.....

Went today though because we were going on a range trip and most of the gunshops around are closed on Sunday. Asked the counter guy for .22lr. "We don't have any". Ok, how about .380 in a hollow point. "We don't have that either.". Turns out they had a box of .380 target RN so I got that. I said, heck with .22 and .380. I've got plenty enough 9mm, .38, .357, 30-06 in the back of my van to keep us busy today.

Moral of he story is, never plan to just 'pick up' ammo on your way to the range.

Remember, during April Remington has a $2.50 per box rebate. I bought five boxes of Remington 9mm 115 grain FMJ at Academy a couple of weeks ago, final price after rebate and including tax was about $9.40/box, all in.

Is that for UMC? Heck, even with the rebate that's still $188 a case, for (just my opinion) one of the least desirable rds out there.
I beat that with Magtech not too long ago, and S&B was about equal in price. That's shipped of course, but I bet the UPS truck arrives before the rebate check does.

Wow, how quickly things go up.

I remember when I first bought my PX4 Storm compact in Nov. of 2011 and going to walmart buying those same Federal Champions for $10 a box.

Of course, them being lower quality, weren't powerful enough to cycle the overly stiff PX4 recoil spring. It was a factory mistake not making it suitable for cheaper ammo. After buying numerous boxes of the Federal, then about 500rd of Winchester NATO trying to break the spring in, Beretta issued a replacement spring, and I just started reloading anyway. Never looked back and love the .05 cents per round. Although it's more like .07 cents now.

Our local Walmart sells Federal 9mm for a dollar cheaper than the steel cased TulAmmo. I find that truly odd since it's more expensive in every single other caliber.

And this fiogures to $189 per 1000 rounds. Where isn't this a good price?
Of course + sales tax. Not sure how good of ammo it is but by price alone it's cheaper than tulo at $9.99 per box.

Just thought I'd post what I'd found, not looking for the firestorm is seems to have created. Won't bother again if this is the kind of response you get on this site.

I know right,..... all them calls for a public hanging!

Some people don't know you can order online for cheaper so I just thought I'd post what I found! And any talk of ammo price will inevitably lead to price comparison to 20 years ago and to reloading. People are sharing what they found with you, just like you did

Sportsmansguide has (or at least had) this for $9.99 a box and free shipping so $7.49 after rebate. $9.49 after rebate isn't worth the hassle of a rebate and wait when other brands are available for the same price.

I see so many people think "wow 9mm for $10 a box that's cheap!" But in reality 9mm isn't a good deal right now unless it's at least down to $9 a box OTD for brass or $8 a box for steel

Tulammo is $7.50-8 a box everywhere I look and free shipping too ;)

Yes some of my local shops want $15 for a box of steel case 9mm but that doesn't mean $10 for brass 9mm is a deal.

In fact S&B brass cased 9mm 124gr is $190 a case shipped and that is better quality and a more desired bullet wright

How quickly we forget. In the immediate pre-Obama days, it wasn't much of a trick to find 9mm for $5/box.

"Is that for UMC? Heck, even with the rebate that's still $188 a case, for (just my opinion) one of the least desirable rds out there. " How so? It's brass cased and seems to shoot just fine for me. Those five boxes are now gone.

Oh, it's probably been a decade since I shot any, and the gun I shot it out of wasn't the best example.

But- it seemed very dirty at the time, and that was compared to Winchester WB. Also remember a FTF or so, had to recock to shoot. As I recall, was a little less accurate too, more flyers than I usually got.

I switched to S&B, Fiocchi, PMC and PPU, and those just felt "better" in the gun. Never went back.

I suppose I could try it again, if the price is right. Glad to hear you're having success with it.

To the OP, I picked up several hundred rounds two days ago here in CT and I thought it was a clergy error and quickly realized this is the new price. Reason? Fiocchi has stopped producing Perfecta for Walmart. Therefore, Federal has taken over and lowered their prices to replace the cheap Perfecta. So, this isn't a sale, but rather the ongoing price for Federal now. And honestly, my M&P9 LOVES Federal. I'm more accurate with it than I am with Remington, Blazer (124 gr) and Magtech. I prefer Federal and PPU so this is right up my alley. Two trips to the local Walmarts and my 1000 rd purchase is complete! I was bummed the Perfecta was discontinued because my pistol also loved it also, but now that Federal is under $10 for a box of 50 is music to my ears!

During the "ammo crunch" of several years back, 9mm ball was simply not available here in the valley. No LGS had any for sale. Finally, a few val-paks turned up at WM, and the early-AM codgers were snapping it up and trying to turn it around at the shows.

Last week, my LGS took in a delivery of 50 1,000 round boxes of ball. Last I looked, there were at least another 40 boxes of 9mm ball, along with 1,000 round cases of .380, .45, .40., .223, 7.62x39. Perhaps it would be wise to pick up what we can before the next "crunch" and not quibble about a $10 difference on 1,000 rounds.

Remember, there are progressive areas where every box has to be logged in, along with your name and address, and bulk sales are forbidden... Good shooting, all! :)

P.S. I also remember the $5.00/box ball. And HPs were $7.50 for 50(!) rounds.
