Walmart ammo price increase "web gossip" ?

The one in Plano and Garland are both indoor.
I go to the one in Plano and I am pretty sure most everyone there shoots the 9mm FMJ.
The range ammo that they sell there is also FMJ.

interesting. maybe it is just the range i go to.

Increase to $19.97 in Houston, TX

Just went to two different Walmarts in southwest Houston and both had increased the price of the 550 pack Federal .22 to $19.97...

A couple of days ago it was 15.47, an increase of 30% which stinks.

Glad I previously stocked up 8K rounds, just wish I had bought more.

They still had the Federal 9mm 100 pack for $19.97, probably just a question of time before that goes up too.

50 box of Federal 9mm went from $10.97 a box to $11.97. Federa 550 22lr went from $17.97 to $18.97 Dollar increase across the board for me. The 100 boc of Federal 9mm is still at $19.97 but never in stock.

Ammunition, like every other product sold at any store, is delivered by a truck that runs on diesel fuel. Have you noticed the prices on fuel, especially diesel fuel? The prices on everything that we consume will go up as the price of fuel goes up. It is not just the price of the fuel to get the product to market, but to get the materials to make the product to the manufacturer. And if the product contains any petroleum product then it is a double whammy.

The impression I'm getting is the retailers are trying to start another panic buy situation. I've heard a bunch of rumors about ammo AND guns. You can bet your bottom dollar all that high priced ammo is going to be at bargain prices next year after Obummer is gone.

I'm not betting on anything being bargain priced in the future. Yes, everything is going up. I don't think its anything sinister at all. Go fill up your gas tank and tell me what you paid. The only thing cheap is borrowing money, and no one wants to loan it. I'm guessing it will be 5 or 10 years of inflation to begin to pay for our governments folly these past 3 years. Wait till Obamacare kicks in and we have to pay for 30 million additional people who won't pay their own. No new doctors, just that many more patients. Don't like waiting? Too bad. Don't get sick.

Huntington Beach Ca. Wal Mart just stocked the ammo bins to the hilt. No price increase yet. Federal 308 blue box and brown box.....$17 ish bucks. Same for 30-06 and 30-30. 250 rounds Remington UPC yellow box 9mm is like $55.
The guy was stoked; they have been pretty bare on the shelves for a little while. It looks good fully stocked!

Everything but Federal went up at least $1 per box at our WalMart in FL.

South florida - coconut creek walmart, I just picked up 5 cases of the 100rnd .40 federal this morning... Price went up from 24.98 to 27.98.

I didn't approve of it but needed the ammo!

Right now I have about 200 of 9mm, 550 of .40, and 500 of 5.56... Don't think I'll be able to afford anymore for a while!

Federal .22lr 550 round bulk went up from $15.47 to $19.97 overnight !
The counter lady said that in stock guns went up 30 to 40 dollars, including guns that have been in inventory for up to 2 years .

Wallmart ammo

Yes Texan, was at the Local Wallmart was looking for .38 Spec
and .45 Colt no luck LOL drove home and Fedex showed up
with 250 Starline Cases in .38 S&W .38 Spec .45 Colt and .455
Webley I did find Fed .22LR In Town Here at BIMart a Brick of 500 for $12.99

Ammo prices at my local Walmart have not budged recently. The lady who was working the counter this morning did say an increase was "coming soon".

My dad said to me ,:rolleyes:lad I do not drive and have to pay that for gas . WANNA BET ?

does no one here remember that ammo and reloading supplies always go up in january? some stores will hold the prices until they sell out of what they have, then have to pay the new prices to restock. some stores raise prices as soon as increases are announced. depends on the store, but one thing you can count on isthat it won't get any cheaper.

This is why I'm stocking up on reloading supplies. The price increases haven't hit us at that level - YET! But to Perrazi's point, the shelves are emptying out of several powder types.

My buddy works at a local gun shop, & he told me all ammo was going up in march by 30 percent. he stocked up on .45 & 9mm for himself before it went up.

Yep.. things have certainly gone from bad to worse... the person I talked to at the Tracy store said that Wally-world in CA is no longer selling handgun ammo as a result of AB962 being signed into law.

Time to stock up via the internet while one can, until 02/2011.

is this at wally world or tracy rifle because i was just in walmart and they had ammo still unless they removed it after i left the store you never know here in ca.

:o i just realized this post was from 2010 sorry.

Don't sweat it, that is what happens when someone resurrects an old thread. Had me running to the store for ammo at three AM.

I remember a few years back when a 1000 rounds of 9mm were up to $280 and now their at about $215. The .22 has stayed pretty much the same.

Ouch! The Federal 550 here went from $15.47 last week to $19.95 today!
Yep, same here . When I looked last week they had about 20 boxes of the 550 bulk for $15.47 .
I go to get some this week and it jumped to $19.95 . :(

All the 22s at Walmart here went up $4 to 5 a brick overnight.
Federal 550 is now right at $20, Winchester 555 is close to $22.

Went to the local Wal-Mart and found 1 box of Winchester White Box .357 Sig 125 grain FMJ. Usually there are 5-10 boxes as that caliber is not too popular around here. It normally sells for $25.97 a box; yesterday it was $30.97. The Bass Pro Shop (30 miles away) only had 3 boxes of WWB, but they were still $25.97. Winchester PDX-1 125 grain JHP is nowhere to be seen at Wal-Mart, BPS has it for $22.97/20.
