Woman Arrested Shortly After Threatening Several With Handgun
On July 10th 2009, just before 5:00 P.M., Deputies of the Clallam County Sheriff.s Department were dispatched to the Wal*Mart located at 3500 East Highway 101 to a report of a disturbance. Wal*Mart employees were escorting a female customer out of the store and requested the Sheriff.s Department to trespass her from their property.
Shortly after the first request for law enforcement, deputies were informed that the woman, 37 year old Port Angeles resident, Teresa Dumdie, had walked back to her vehicle, armed herself with a handgun, and then drove over to where employees and customers were at. According to witnesses, Dumdie pointed the handgun at several men, women, and children while making threats that she was going to kill them and .blow up. the store.
Dumdie was observed leaving the parking lot by responding deputies. Deputies detained Dumdie across the street while other deputies made contact with several victims and witnesses. As the result of the investigation, deputies discovered that they had probable cause to arrest Dumdie and to apply for a search warrant for her vehicle. Inside the vehicle deputies discovered a loaded .22 cal semi-automatic handgun on the passenger seat of the vehicle under a jacket.
Dumdie was arrested and booked into the Clallam County Correctional Facility for 8 counts for Assault in the first degree. This case has been forwarded to the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for formal charging on Monday.
