My girlfriend is absolutely jonesing for a Walther P22. I was wondering if there are any problems with these neat little guns, like the recent PPK's have had. She's new to shooting, but is really wanting to learn now that she has actually handled this gun. I want to teach her, but a malfunctioning new gun that she has sunk her hard earned money into is not the way to get off to a good start. Any thoughts are appreciated.

There were problems reported with the early ones but that seems to have been fixed now. It's a great little gun. My grandkids are doing their best to wear mine out without much success. It just keeps going and going. It gets a lot of use around here and everybody loves it.

The initial FTF issues were traced to bad mags. I sent mine back, it was returned with new mags and nothing else done to the gun I could detect. Ran like a top until I traded it to a fellow straight across for a M-66 circa 1972 four incher in 95% shape. (insert BIG smile here)

Two friends have them, and run them with cans...both seem to work fine.

I've had one for about three years now and really like it. For some reason mine won't cycle on Federal bulk ammo but functions fine on the Remington bulk.

It's not quite as accurate as my old model 63 but its a fun plinker.

I love mine. Some folks say they aren't too accurate, but I have no problems hitting what I'm aiming at. CCI Mini-Mags seem to be more accurate than Federal bulk, so maybe their problem is ammo. Those are the only two I buy, and it functions well with both.

My wife used it to qualify for her CCW, and all the guys she shot with (co-workers, the boss took them all for a CCW class :D) wanted to shoot it. They were also pretty impressed with her shooting. I don't think she'll be getting harassed at the office any time soon. ;)

Ive had mine for about a year now and its had no issues. CCI mini mags are the way to go... Ive shot other brands of 22lr like winchester, federal, remington etc and it doesnt seem to like them all that much. For the money, its pretty accurate as well.

I will borrow my brother's every now and then to help teach new shooters about semi-auto's. Keep it clean and find bulk ammo it likes and all should be fine. I'm kind of thinking I might pick up one for myself because I hate borrowing firearms.
