Hi Gang,
Does anyone have or had the GSG 22 1911 pistol? If so can you share with me your experiences...good and bad? How accurate and reliable was it? Did you modify it in anyway? I would really appreciate any info provided.
Bill
Yes I have one and have probaly sold many, by letting other shooters try it.
Put ~ 5000 rounds through it. It just keeps getting beter. At first it did not like any ammo but CCI mini-mags. After a few ~ 1000 it started shooting anything. I bought three extra mags, they are expensive to me ~$35.00 each. They are easy to load, and well made in Germany.
With factory sights not adjusted, mine shoots slightly high and to the left. You can drift the rear, and replace the fronts with two different blades. I should probably do this, but knowing where it hits, I have no problem wearing out a 3" circle at 10 yards.
Shot the other day a 50 yards, sitting, using a rest. Could hit a 9" steel dish all day long.
Looking at fit and finish it is great. Looking at other 1911's it is up there with Colt/Kimber in looks.
I know I can add all kinda things to it. Most any 1911 add on will work with it. But I like it as is.
I get by with cleaning it ~ 500 rounds. After you get used to it it breaks down pretty easy.I recommnd it highly.
Sig sells the same gun. It is made by GSG, at about ~ $100.00more.
Colt sells a 1911 .22lr also. Good shooter but looks like junk.
Plus more for the Colt name.
The GSG 1911 is the best pistol I have bought in years.
