Welcome to the Forum. We need a little more info, serial number, and some close up sharp focus pictures of barrel stamps and any on the frame would help. As to value, probably not a lot in terms of dollars but priceless since it was your Dad's. Sights for those old ones are a little tricky but with practice they work. The old 32s are favorites of some here.

Welcome to the Forum! The Forum experts will be along soon, but they will probably need a couple of more pictures to properly identify your revolver. It's most likely a .32 Hand Ejector Model of 1903 (.32 S&W Long), round butt with nickel finish and black hard rubber stocks. There were several variations (changes) associated with this Model, so the s/n and other info would help narrow down its approx. manufacture date and age. There are lots of fans of the .32 HE here on the Forum, so you're in good company. You inherited a nice revolver from your Dad, though it's not particularly rare or valuable. It appears to be in quite good condition. Since you've already shot it, you know it functions. It could probably use a good internal cleaning since it's been around for over 100 years and oil and dirt tend to accumulate and get sticky!
Enjoy!

The picture looks to me to be a little larger than a I or J frame, and could be a K Frame in 32 Long or 32-20. If in 32 Long in a K Frame it might have collectable value. If it is a J/I Frame it is a nice comfortable shooter. There is a "Sticky" post at the top of this forum that tells how to identify your gun so it can be accurately identified. S/N, etc.

Welcome to the forums from the cotton and peanut covered plains of the Wiregrass! Well, the OP says .32 Long. So, it's not a .32-20. Has the small trademark stamp. I'm guessing .32 Hand Ejector from the 1920's. The serial number from the bottom of the butt frame will tell the tale.
