Want to mount a TRS-25 on my Carry Handle

That puts the red dot really high...I wouldn't do it. I would ditch the carry handle myself, or cut it down to where you keep the fixed sight, but loose all the extra that just takes up space on your rail, and then mount my red dot so that my fixed sight is a lower 1/3 co-witness.

Thanks. That may be what I have to do. I was REALLY hoping to keep my carry handle on and intact, but wasn't sure what the options were for doing so.

I prefer a higher cheek weld anyway, so the extra height is not as much an issue for me as it may be for others.

Has anyone used on of those "Z" shaped adapters that attaches to the rail but puts the dot over the delta ring? Is that perhaps a better option?

A couple of thoughts: I have a TRS-25 on my 15-22 flattop with two 3/4" risers. I also have an AR with the old A1 style carry handle. It wears a 1.5X compact ACOG mounted by only the one single screw. BOTH work just fine for me and the 15-22 setup is a great subcaliber practice weapon.

I suspect you could put the TRS-25 on that Leupold mount it would work pretty well. I shoot mostly offhand with my head up as well. You could also whack some length (and weight) off that rail when you find how much you actually need to put the optic where you want it.

At worst you're not out much and that little Bushnell red dot is a good little sight for other stuff including pistols if you so choose. I have a spare rail mount that looks exactly the same as the Leupold that I got from Brownell's that I would probably part with for the cost of shipping. I got it to try with a Weaver 1-3x20 on a fixed carry handle and it worked ok; I just didn't care for the narrow FOV on the Weaver.

Hope some of this helps.

It does, thank you! I think I just need to buy the pieces, put them together and try it out. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't overlooking anything.

I'm interested in that rail - is it aluminum or polymer?
