I have declared war on the dirt daubers that are constantly trying to build their filthy mud tubes in my garage. In the heat of the summer Daisy likes to hang out on the cool concrete flooring in the garage so I don't want to use any spray chemicals. I found these PIC Fly Sticks from Lowe's and at this point I am holding my own against them.

But , But they are beneficial critters :)That sure is a lot of them. We have them but not that many. They make nests not only in the garage but on the outside stucco, Near impossible to remove the "glue" that holds the mud.

If you break open the nest they have deposited a caterpillar in there to feed the larva.

The gun clubs shed was full of wasp, we hung zip locks full of water with a couple pennys in them and no more wasp. Sounds crazy and if you google it you will get people saying it works and others saying it won't. It did work at the club. In fact we checked them out a while ago and you could not tell that it was pennys in them any more they were so corroded, what amazed us was that they hung for years thru the winter and hot summer and the zip locks never leaked.

Tennis racket zappers help with eye hand co ordination, lol and its nice to hear the " crack" when you get one or 2 in one arc. Mosquitos just about disappear as thats what I use mine for here.
My DIL never quite got that concept through her head; she used them more as a club than as zapper.
I would go though 4-5 each summer but, since this will be the first summer without her, I'll have to see how I do with only 1 zapper this year.

I LOVE my tennis racket zapper… almost more than my S&W! Makes the difference between the rare swat that gets one or two, to a massive stroke of death that clears entire sections of atmosphere! I'm working on mounting a couple on my motorcycle. We will finally prevail!!!

Maybe there needs to be a thread on bug zappers? Saw some new fangled fly swatting type last week, had a motor on base with 6" long shaft with flexible blades that supposedly swatted bugs….

That sounds like too much work. :) I want to win the war through effective tactics and strategy, I don't want to do a frontal assault.
Good luck. But keep in mind what von Moltke said

...My wife is terrified of bugs — That display would give her nightmares for sure!
Only bugs? Neighbours two doors down decided to build a big fancy house, his wife is terrified of bears, and we're in bear country. Like this one that wandered nonchalantly by me in June:

I was working out in my shop putting some garden stuff away when I noticed a new paper wasp nest in the top corner of the garage door with a lone wasp hanging around. I grabbed a 4x4 post that just happened to be handy to smash the nest/wasp , bad idea. The post was just heavy enough that I was a little slow and the wasp got away. Little bugger grabbed me just above the wrist and bit me (absolutely a bite not a sting, got a good up close up look at the bugger in the act), taking a 1/8th inch chunk of skin with her. Never did get the bugger. Now it's been 10 days & I still can't get the bite to heal. Bite site is still red swollen painful and itches like hell. From now on it will be chemical warfare only, I'm getting too old and slow for this hand to hand crap.

I have one of those ..... fun going after flies and wasps :), however the wasps usually require a followup shot or two.

Don
I'm going to have to break mine out.
I have carpenter bees munching on my deck and pergola.
Wish I could get one of these in my truck.
