We replaced our old gas cookstove with electric and now never have the carbon monoxide detectors go off as they used to. As well, the electrician found a gas leak near a joint under the house.
Gas is fine if everything is up to spec, but I've had some issues getting competent help to ensure our stuff was up to snuff.
Still have gas hot water and furnace, both vented to the outside.
