Not sure but mine has only been there for 2 weeks. From what I have read on this forum it is anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks. :(

It depends on what needs done. I've heard others say it's taken them a couple weeks, I've seen others take over 6 months. It took over 3 months for my pistol to just be returned to me.

From what I've been told by S&W, their customer service department has had a huge influx of work from the huge number of recent buyers. Couple that with them updating their systems and things can either turn out really well, or take forever.

Hopefully they've gotten past the rougher part of integrating new systems and training more techs so they're back to the service they're known for.

I contacted S&W Customer Service about sending my new FS M&P 9 back to improve the (gritty) heavy (9.5#) trigger pull to claimed specs on Friday January 24. I was told I would get a return label emailed to me in 5-10 days. Figuring this was business days, I waited two weeks and it arrived Friday Feb 7.

Sent the gun in that day. It arrived at S&W Monday Feb 10. I heard nothing until yesterday when an email gave me the Fedex tracking number, saying the gun shipped Tues. Feb 25. FedEx says I will receive it today, February 27.

Whole process: a little over a month. Time actually at S&W: just over two weeks (11 business days). Good turn around IMO.

So how did S&W do with your repair?

For some, it might be acceptable. Smoothed it some and lightened it to an average of just under 6.5 lbs. by adjusting the trigger bar. Left a very noticeable hitch at the trigger bar contact with the striker block. 10 pulls varied from 5.5 - 7 lbs.

I expected more but it was free. Will install an Apex FSS to get it to behave like it should. Should have done that instead of sending it in, but I thought I'd give them a chance. I'd say they did the minimum.

I asked as I sent a 686 in on February the 14th and just got a tracking email overnight that it is due on March the 4th. They told me it would take from 3-4 weeks. No communication while they had it but they did send me the FedEx tracking data to let me know it is heading my way.

The trigger was too heavy and there was some grit especially in the return. I will report back my results if there is an interest. Thank you for the information!

I shipped my Shield on Feb 7 and received an email Feb 28 with a tracking # showing it is scheduled to be delivered on Mar 4. Just over 3 weeks round trip.
