Ok here goes, Mine says K333033 Mod-17 inside, K 333033 on the bottom of the grip, 333033 and a star on the flat under the barrel, 333033 on the cylinder under the ejector star,

On the cylinder arm there is stamped 70823 with a K under that and 70823 is alst stamped on the left side of the frame under the grip.

It has a target hammer and a target trigger and a blued ramp front site with orange insert. Rear site is also blued.

Also on the left side of the frame is a R-N inside a rectangle stamped.

I want to shoot this one but if its one of the super rare "factory nickel" guns ill let it rest in the safe.

Input please!

No, your gun was sent back to the factory for a refinish in Nickel, hence the R-N inside the rectagle which meant Refinish-Nickel. The Star might indicate a barrel change also. If done nicely, It would be a very attractive shooter and conversation peice :)

please post pictures!

You may also see 3-6 digits stamped near the R-N on the grip frame, which is how the factory used to date their work, like 3.13 for this month/year.

I just saw the "please post pictures" whats the best wat yo post them on here?

Thanks a bunch, What does the factory refinish do to the value?

This gun seems to be an exception to the rule about refinished guns losing substantial value. It may be the rarity of 'original' factory K-22s. I would guess yours would be worth at least what an original blue K-22 in equivalent condition would be.

What is an "original" worth these days. I basically got it for a song but don't want to ruin it if I should leave it in the safe.

Very nice. If it were mine I would take it out of the safe every once in a while and do some target shooting with it. Enjoy it, that's what they're for.

It worth what someone will pay. Most people on here would probably go $500 or so for it (IMO). Nice looking 4 screw gun that the factory reworked, don't worry too much about it being refinished. I like it and it would not bother me to own it.

bwade

I too would lean more toward $600, with no data to back that up. If you put it on auction it may go for $600, or $900; handgun prices are a little crazy right now.

So.......Whats she worth? Any guesses?

Biggerjigger - there are many K22 Collectors/Shooters that would love to have a nickel one.
Your's would clean up nicely with some flitz. The fact that it is a factory nickel job is a Bonus to you.
If it cleans up as nice as I think it will, you'd have many buyers in the $800 and up range.
Thanks for sharing pics
