Dead snakes don't get in my house, but In the last few years a half dozen live ones have. All snakes look like copperheaded rattlemoccasins to me. I kill them all except kingsnakes.
can't blame ya for that - haveing the ol' lady freak out from finding a snake of any sort in the bathroom vanity cabinet is an experience best not subjected to.
I hear you 5906 fan! Last month my wife nearly stepped on one in the bedroom and it was not a pretty sight. She had the 12 ga in hand before I could even move but I was able to talk her down and killed it with a shovel. I bought a ferret and let him roam the house and have not found anymore inside since. I really wanted a mongoose but they are hard to find!
I don't kill ANY native snakes - especially garters & kings.
I'd much rather have a snake in my house than a Rat!
Now if the day ever comes when I see a burmese python anywhere, I'll be sure to put a bullet in his head.
In my yard, all snakes are considered hostile and will be dealt with accordingly. I also found out that a Remington 700 in .204 Ruger zeroed at 100 yards ain't worth a damn on a water moccasin at 15 feet! But it was what I had handy at the time.
i have to agree. only good snake is a dead snake. especially down here in Texas where we have some nasty ones. i am actually surprised i don't see more since i have a pool and i live down the street from a lake.
