I understand there were only a few hundred of these guns made, what is the value of one in excellent shape with 2-8rd factory mags, no box or manual just the gun and 2 mags.

Thanks

I would guess between $700-$800 in excellent shape w/o box and papers. But I'm sure someone else on the board can give you a more accurate estimate. There is one for sale right now on Gunsamerica.com and they are asking $865 with only one mag and no box or papers, guess it will come down to how much someone is willing to pay.

I've owned about a 1/2 dozen over the years, and used to keep track of the serial numbers. There appears to have been less than 500 made, in 2 or 3 small runs around 1991.

I would consider anything under $1K to be reasonable, with the NIB ones commanding the better prices. Like the 1046, you won't ever see these coming from the factory again.

I'm down to just the one I carry, and it will be the last gun I part with.

just out of curiousity what is the difference between the 4546 and the 4586? all the deputies in my department carry the 86.

The 4546 has a full 5" barrel, like a Government model 1911.

The 4586 is Commander size, with a 4.25" barrel. They were made for LE contracts 1991-1998, with thousands having been produced.
