I saw some older threads about this particular pistol jammin'…I'm used to GLOCKS that don't seem to jam at all to this S&W that jammed every first round to every 3rd, fifth and so on…first time me firing this pistol, but not the first time the pistol has been fired.
I put about 70+ rounds through it and just when I thought I made it through this rough patch it would jam again…right at the ramp.
Same as the earlier posters…
I've got a visitor coming in the next couple of weeks so the pistol will be fired again then.
Visitor has been looking at the 40sd…pulled in by the price and name recognition.
Three cleanly fired mags and it may go home with him and reside in the drawer with his .38!
I will clean it and fill the mags to the max and see if that makes a difference.
Love the way the gun feels and fires!
Very accurate!

I was a S&W revolver guy and when my Police Department went to 9mm I tried them all 39, 659, 5906 and 4506. Mine usually ran well being a gun enthusiast but a lot of other cops were always having a problem. Then we went to Berettas and after I retired they adopted Glocks.

I went out to the Police Range for my annual LEOSA Qual one year and I shot a Glock 21 (45 ACP) and a Glock 19 (9mm) and got 100% with both of them.

I have heard stories of Sigmas jamming, but never seen it first hand. I have had a Sigma40F since maybe the 1st year or so they were released, also a 40V and have never seen a jam. I also have a SD40 and SD9 and they have always functioned flawless.

That being said, polishing feed ramps fixes a whole host of feed issues. And as long as you don't go beyond a polish, you won't hurt it. 1000 grit and 2000 grit sand paper works wonders.

What is the pistol actually doing? From your post it sounds like the Pistol is failing to feed and the round is getting hung up on the ramp. As mentioned in the other posts it may be that the feed ramp needs to be polished to reduce friction and remove burrs that the round could hang up on.

Has the malfunction occurred with all three magazines?

What ammo are you using?

Dose the malfunction occur will multiple types of ammo or just one?
