By the news all over the USA is getting very bad. Where we live winter can be brutal. But today [Christmas] was 67 degrees. We spent all after noon on the back deck enjoying the sunshine. But reading the weather report next week we are going to catch what the rest of the nation has had. Remember, Calif is not always sunny.

Here in Central Texas it got down to 11° Friday morning and stayed below freezing until about noon on Christmas Eve when it hit about 34°. Christmas day was really nice with temps getting in to the upper 50s.

Here in the NE corner of Florida it's 29* and feels like 29*, wind @1mph. High today is forecasted at 51*………… forecast for this week is warming with high on Friday to be 79*…….. I really dislike these 50* swings…..

I'll admit it's a bit nippy for S. FL. I broke out a pair of flannel PJ bottoms to wear around the house rather than mu usual shorts. But when I go out in my usual shorts and shirt--I see people in full-length quilted coats, sheepskin winter hats, furry boots, and think--what the heck? I could see it if they were at a Friday night football game for hours, but to walk from the car to the door of Walmart? It will be back up to 80 in a couple of days.

Right now (8:15 am local) it's 43, on its way to a high of 74.

Suppose to hit around 45 today. Last week we had a couple days that were between -25 to -30 with wind chills in the -50s. Fore cast calls for getting into the 30s during the day for the next week with night time lows in tthe teens and low 20s. Winters are warmer around here than they were 50 years ago without any doubt.

Weather at home near Phoenix is balmy…where I am is Midway Airport in Chicago in the chaos of cancelled and delayed flights due to lousy weather. Our plane is already delayed several hours as the airline can't get a complete crew in…the plane is there…no one to crew it.

Rained fairly heavily on Friday here Central NJ, then turned to snow very briefly. Saturday, Sunday, today, cold-24 degrees, clear, sunny-windy.

Cloudy and over cast, hanging around 50 outside. Still haven't caved and turned the heat on. House is still holding 68 after three days in the 40's.
