Weatherproofing nylon?

I have a Stearns Rain Jacket I have had for years .. lost the hood somewhere .. I just touch up the seams every fall and treat the whole jacket every 3 or 4 years .. or if rain seeps through ..

Always have 6 or more heavy duty contractor garbage bags in both vehicle's .. fit a 55 gallon drum .. cut head and arm holes and your dry from head to toe and can also help you stay very warm if stranded ..

I remember an awning maker dipping canvas into clear concrete sealer for waterproofing. I was skeptical, thinking it would eventually flake off but it permeated the material and became permanent. He made bimini tops and boat covers and I asked if it would work on nylon... as in tents.
He said absolutely.
We've since gone our separate ways and I cant recall the brand of sealer.

i have a lightweight Columbia jacket with a hood that is nylon...i never get wet when it rains, while i wear it.....
