What a week. Must be a sign of the season but the volunteer fire dept I am on has had several calls for field fires this week with two of them today also there have been 4 or 5 other feild fires in the county but other depts responded. Thankfully nobody was hurt and no damage was done other than some yards and cornfields.

Yeah, we started getting the calls today too. I expect we'll get one more decent snowfall this month and then next month the brush fires will really start. Time to fill the water tank in the ATV...

It's that time of the year. Control burns each year keep stuff from building up and making a really bad fire later on. Some parts of the country don't allow control burns. They're usually the ones that lose a bunch of houses when it does ignite. Of course you've always got arsonists, and idiots who don't know how and when to burn.

Yeah Charlie.
The last couple of weeks the forest service has been burning the forest north of me and you can see the smoke down here in Orange Grove.

Got a Shenanigan Parade tomorrow in Gulfport. Maybe will get a cabbage or two.

The people on the floats think it is great fun to throw the beads on the Ariel of my unit.

I am 10-7

I flew from Ft Myers to Atlanta on Thursday and I could see lots of smoke and a few fires along the way.

Most of the fires we were called to this week were caused by people burning trash and a couple they think were from someone throwing a cigarette but out.
