Weekend RANT "Update-see post 25"

We've got a red squirrel issue at our place. I can hear them in the wall but don't know where they're getting in. The dog and cat are tied at 1 kill each.

Side note: those little things make the most annoying sound in the world. If it weren't for the neighbors living so close, I'd be picking them off left and right. (The red squirrels, not my dog and cat)

Ok, a inquiring mind wants to know...Do you use Jiff, Skippy or Peter Pan Peanut butter? Creamy or Chunky? Natural or the stuff with all the additives?

Hey, there's noting on the tube tonight, and my mind is a wandering.

WuzzFuzz

Jiff Natural smooth.

A great little item if you can find one is a green plastic case with wires protruding from the case. The lettering on the side is "front toward enemy".

You should be kind of careful about what else is on that same side. A sandbag will hold it in place.

My Cat (Manx, no tail), Bob, takes care of my house and yard.
I may have rats occasionally, but not for long.

So as expected this morning dead rat.
Take the trap and release the carcass to put te trap up for the next time and I hear "Ewww don't do that" "Why not" "Because the scent of the dead rat will make all the other rats stay away from the trap" "Who told you that? "The people who sell the rat traps"
Well Duhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yep, I agree...just a marketing ploy. I've used the same rat traps for several years now and they never fail to work. I've probably caught enough rats over the years to make my wife a fur coat...and a matching handbag, too!:D

Hey, take it from one who knows...when it comes to trappin' rats, the Chinese have it all over those folks at Victor!!!:D

But for them, it's dinner!

Wear latex gloves. Scent problem solved.

We had a rat take up residence in the garage over what passes for winter down here. Discovered his presence when he chewed into a quart of motor oil. Found his nest behind some storage crates and chased him with a shovel. He took a direct hit and kept running. There are four traps with peanut butter awaiting his return. He either died or found a better place as he did not come back.
