Greetings, all:

I've noticed an odd thing in the HS-6 data on Hodgdon's Web site. For a cast 200-grain semi-wadcutter in .45 ACP, Hodgdon lists a starting load of 8.2 grains and a max load of 8.4. That seems a very narrow range. Is that correct, or is it perhaps a typo?

Thanks, and Semper Fi.

If you limit the information on the data page to show just HS-6 you will see there is another place where it doesn't make sense either.

Having used the load for the heavier 230gr bullet, I can tell you that it is extremely hard to keep any re-loading equipment within that kind of tolerance.

The other data is for a jacketed bullet. I simply figured that that was the reason. Now as you point out, this one is for a lead bullet.

I guess I would call and find out why the data is posted like that.

There might just be a reason!
