So with the whole Remington 700 trigger TV hype and possible problem I decided to take them up on the bolt modification program (note it was not a recall:rolleyes:) Due to the age of my gun it was under that program. It's a BDL 30-06 with the jeweled bolt and that beautiful Remington finish that not many guns have these days.

Anyway I figured for $39.00 which included shipping both ways, they installed a new X Mark Pro Trigger. replaced my front sight and screw which was buggered (no charge) Test fired and sent it back. They had it just short of 30 days.

The trigger feels just has crisp as the old one and the main reason I sent it back is that I can now UNLOAD the gun with the safety ON instead of on fire which was just stupid IMHO.

I feel better, had a master Gunsmith go over the gun and got a new trigger and front sight all for $39.00.

Works for me:)

Oh, and I got to "play" with their new 1911 at the shop the other day and it's not bad for the price. Actually pretty nice.

Nice feed back......I have been a Remington shooter all my life. Was raised up with them etc. Now I shoot Benchrest......Remington is the "Standard" which all rifles are judged agianst. I love my Remingtons as much as my Smiths............And that my friends is saying a lot

I would (and always did) take an older 725 thru 700-type Remington rifle for out-of-the-box accuracy and strength of action over any other. No frills - just performance.
