So, I've kind of adopted a bunny that use to belong to my 2 nephews. This afternoon, I heard the bunny thumping it's foot (a sign of alarm for them). I walked into the kitchen to see what was wrong. I noticed something that looked like a small piece of gas line from a distance coming out from under the stove. Turning the light on, I could see that it was the wrong color for a gas line. Then it started moving. Yep - it was a snake.

I grabbed my snake tongs and a snake bag from the utility closet. Pulling it out, I could see it was actually a King Snake - but it had gotten it's head stuck in a mouse trap I had under the stove, so I had to go ahead and kill it.

Now to use my holiday tomorrow to find whatever hole this thing came through and plug it.....I don't like having uninvited guests like that - lol.

Never had much experience with bunnies, but I have a good friend who has a place just down in Mississippi where I go to shoot, and he has a Jack Russell that is the ace #1 snake pointer in the world.

Yep having a dog when outside is a really good thing to have. They often let you know of a snake nearby way before you see it.

I am impressed by anyone who has snake tongs and a snake bag, and can find them both quickly when needed . . .
