I guess LH will be doing Colt's Autos, cause all their great wheel guns are no more! Yes I agree, no more loyalty.

I heard a rumor that Colt is getting back into their old revolver line up (Python, King Cobra, Anaconda.....etc)

Lets hope it's true !!!

Unfortunately that rumor has been floating around, well, since Colt got out of the modern revolver business. It remains unfortunately speculative with nothing behind it.

Too, if Colt did, it is at best only remotely likely they would or even could produce a revolver anything like the Pythons and Diamondbacks of old: cost prohibitive, and the pre-CNC machines, techniques and know-how are almost institutionally gone.

Don't bother me one bit that S$W MAKES THEIR OWN BED ! I don't even take a second look at their current production models. Now having said that, now I will take a nice pre 1980 home with me !!!

Don't think that Lew Horton is just in business to serve the shooting community. Their only worry is the bottom line also. If the bean counters at LH, and make no mistake they have bean counters also, determine that they can sell more guns and make more profit by stocking Colt's, then Colt it will be and S&W goes to the curb. That's the nature of business in a capitalist system. LH didn't worry about us poor members of the local shooting community when they closed their wonderful retail store in Framingham, Ma.. That's business.

Note to the executives at Smith and Wesson. Will miss Lew Horton's association with S&W. I am also glad I obtained a few while they were available.

The Smith&Wesson most of us think of has not existed for 25 plus years. The old all American high quality craftsmanship in revolvers is gone. That is why most of us like the blue steel, wood, pinned barrels, recessed chambers, no silly locks, old boxes, etc. If people like the new stuff that's great but It's not the same as the old stuff. Dumping Lew Horton is about what I would expect at this point. I'll keep collecting, appreciating and shooting the old stuff as long as I can. I hope people like and enjoy the new stuff as much as I like the old stuff.

I bet, that with the political climate of the last year or two, S&W is selling more guns than they ever did. Probably a lot more.

I own some Lew Horton's. 627PC's. Fluted and unfluted. And I don't like the IL and won't own one.
As for S & W they have done something very positive and that is they have moved past Sigma to the M & P which is above and beyond Glock. The numbers are moving and M & P's are gaining market, although Glock will outpace S & W because of marketing schemes. However, it saddened me to switch to Glock when I had to, and I'm happy to be able to return to S & W for duty type weapons. Ford went downhill for a while, then Toyota came in and scared them into making better cars. Now, I'm driving down the road in my F-150 with my S & W as the Lord intended for me to do. S & W revolvers are yesteryear glories, but at least they are climbing back with their semi-autos.

I won't buy a new production revolver from s&w and am content finding older models to suit my needs. The m&p series for me does nothing and if I am forced to pick polymer I will go with 3rd Gen glocks or usp's. I am thankful for my 586, 19 and 629. The new stuff can be for the new generation.
