We've Been Busy, Update Post #30

My condolences to you and yours. I had the task of cleaning out my mother-in-law's house when we moved her into an assisted living facility. I would go down and do 3 pickup truck loads, one to the dump, one to a thrift shop that helped out people whose homes were damaged by hurricane Isabel, and then another load to bring back home. It was a 2 hour drive each way so I was pretty beat by the time I got home. They never threw anything away so it was a real chore.

Funeral's been set for Wednesday the 10th. Since we live three hours away we're gonna go out to the house on Tuesday and spend the night there. Weather's supposed to be nice.
This weekend we're going out to the house and bring a burial dress and some pictures to the funeral home and do some more clearing.

I'm sorry for your loss. We've been through it with all of our parents. I'm in the old generation now. Even when their death is no surprise and brings them needed rest it's still hard on the survivors and we suffer grief. I pray her final arrangements go smoothly and help bring peace and closure to you and your family.

Cleaning out Mom & Dad's house was very hard. I don't envy you. So sorry about your MIL. May she rest in peace.
I had to smile when I was clearing out Dad's closet: leisure suits! All in the pastel colors. People buy this kind of junk, but I didn't have the energy to sell them. There's a couple retro stores down in Lawrenceville, a now-trendy area of Pittsburgh down the hill from me, but I just wasn't in the mood.
Again snubbyfan, so sorry about your and your wife's loss.
