I was sitting here forumnizing for an hour or so and went out side to "check the weather". There was a 6 point buck milling around in the yard so I hurried back in to get my movie camera. He made a big circle and came back around walking straight toward me. My movie camera takes crappy still photos. He went into some brush just over the fence at the edge of the yard. I stood there waiting. Instead of that one coming back, a buck stuck his head out of the thicket with th e largest rack I have ever seen around here.
I know, no pictures, no deer. I WILL get pics of him with my digital camera and post them. Had to be at least 12 points if not more. Kinda scary actually as he was up wind at about 20'.
Wow.
I also got some good video of the reason they were there. A nice big doe.
OK I'm on it now.
Peace
gordon:D

Yea boy the bucks are moving! All the big boys at my place move around from about midnight to 3 am more or less. Trail cams are great since I don't live on the place. I look forward to seeing your pics.

Just a bit of advice. Remember, when there are no pictures the number of points increases 15 %. That's what I was always told. lol

next time make him bigger........ Sounds like a nice deer!

You should have seen the bass I caught last week! Musta been at least a 11 pounder! I took a picture but dropped my camera in the lake. Next time I catch him, I'll take another picture and post it!;)

Seriously, I'm hoping you get a picture of him. I really enjoy seeing all the deer and wildlife everyone photographs. Even little red piglets!:D

These youngins' have a reprieve until next year ;)

ABSOLUTELY breath taking. And your back yard none the less. Lucky man indeed. Guessing a 1.5 and 2.5 year old deer. Body wise we almost never get a deer that size. Horn wise takes 4.5 or better and few live that long here with our season length and 176 deer per year limit.

You need to have that done into a painting to hang next to the sliding glass doors that go out onto that deck.

Views like that would "almost" make me give up the mosquitos and redbugs in the winter time.

thanks for sharing those pics and please post any more.

the little one

I didn't get a pic of that big buck, but I am sending a really crappy picture of the 6 pointer that got my attention to start with.
I took this picture from the video disc on my movie camera and it looks like one of the characters at the end of an old spaghetti western movie:eek:
I hunted him all day just about but didn't see hide nor hair of giganto. I will try again tomorrow.:)
Peace,
gordon

I was happy seeing little deer on my property. The Mulies are close in to the house this time of year, with hunting season on. My biggest surprise was to find a small herd of Coues whitetails hanging around the homestead. Here in SE Arizona it is said If you have Oaks you have Coues. In my canyon they tend to stay at about 5K ft and above, I am at 4600ft. Compared to Mulies they look like my neighbors Great Danes.

This one has been hanging around the house since March,He needs another year or two.Lots of character in his rack,he had a pillow stuck in it last week.

We built a new 40X80 steel garage last spring.. During construction a blizzard came up. The outer building sans doors was complete. Ranch manager's wife looked out the window and there were 4 mule deer in the building looking out the doors at the snow.

They left in the morning after the snow let up.
