I picked up a Dan Wesson VBob at this weekend's Vegas Speedway show. I am one who appreciates the bobbed grip frame on a commander size 1911; for me it makes for a more comfortable grip. I also like DW's Duty Treat, their name for black nitride. I have a DW ECO that's seen a lot of holster and range time and still looks brand new. Here it is with my Ed Brown Kobra Carry and ECO.

While I have 4 1911 models I enjoy the two Colt Commanders and the Para Ordinance 3.25 & 4.25 LDA's with 6 and 12 rounds. All of them are massive firepower in reduced packages!

How was that show in general? I would have liked to go, but money and other social commitments kept me away.

It l was ok. Mostly new guns, ammo and accessories; basically the Convention Center show, but without AC. Only 2-3 sellers with anything of interest to me - older Colts and pre-lock Smiths. I heard Sunday was a ghost town.

Dang! Maybe I could have scored a nice milsurp under those conditions. There are also a couple of modern guns that interest me because they are a little out there in their design.

Nice! Dan Wesson makes some fine 1911's.
I picked up a Valor VBob in 9mm a few years ago and love it. It's been getting more range time than any of my other 9mm's.

Unfortunately, it doesn't like Winchester white box ammo. It's flawless with everything else.

I am guessing you'll see much of the same stuff at next weekend's Convention Center show. The Speedway show was cramped and stuffy.

No danger of me going to that show. All travel anywhere near the Strip is currently banned in my family. The F1 construction has brought the whole area to a functional, 24/7 gridlock.

Friend of ours was telling us that she and her employer (a major Vegas casino) are unsure as to how she and her staff are supposed to get to work F1 week. Local Fox affiliate just showed some of the chaos and all of a sudden there is talk of remote parking and workers traveling in using the monorail. Yeah, the workers will love that.

Culinary Union has just said that if it is taking workers hours to get to and from work because of F1, then the casinos need to pay them for their time. All this is taking place while the union is negotiating new contracts and already has a mandate for strike action. Could be pretty funny if that happens during F1 week.

I sense some hilarity is on its way.;)

My only Dan Wesson is a Pointman PM-9, that I also fitted with a 38 Super +P barrel, which isn't bobbed.

But I do appreciate the bobbed grip of the Sc-E for concealed carry.
