My Midwest area has had a few Shows. Here mask wear is by wisdom, not fiat. I’m COVID shy myself, but you see all kinds attend, doorknob lickers and all.
Ours are held at fairgrounds mostly, so there is abundant natural ventilation and natural sunlight even inside buildings. Really you cannot pick a much better environment to reduce COVID transmission. I wear a mask and gloves, as the fomites via hands scare me the most.
Prices are high on nearly everything... Except for the one or two dealers who are selling at or near pre-pandemic prices. Those folks had people stacked three-four deep at tables to fill out 4473s. Volume dealers were being rewarded with people’s business, very good sales. Same for ammo dealers, who sold well too. Those dealers also seem to being rewarded by their suppliers too, a virtuous circle.
The opportunist dealers were grousing and had sour faces, as no one was interested in a 50% markup. Like many other folks who normally hit gun shows, we know our price points, crisis or not. There were folks new to guns or wanting an election hedge model at the last show, but maybe only 25% at most. They were mostly buying sub $300 handguns and sub $750 rifles in my observation.
