No sir, I did not...but somebody else probably did. I put nearly two dozen guns on lay-a-way that were LE confiscation/evidence/stolen/recovered/former duty/T&E from a Florida sheriff department. A few of them had case numbers and or tags on them when they were purchased. I can't turn down a decent deal.
I also will never do that again, as my eyes were bigger than my wallet. I had a few people who helped deplete the pile in a timely fashion and I appreciate that.
629 Shooter is closer to the "real world" cost of one of these. There is a forum for these 10MM pistol guys. See what they say, and take a look on the auction sights to ascertain real market value. It ain't 500 bucks. Flapjack.
Just sold mine today. good condition, no box, adj. sights, for $850. We both ended up happy with the deal. Like I said earlier, it's all about what someone wants.
I saw one earlier this year in a Turner's consignment case, excellent condition for $795. I was told the seller was a guy who generally bought a gun, fired it a few times, then put it away. It sold fairly quickly.
I looked at a 4506 he was selling & I believe it. It hardly appeared used. Apparently he never cleaned them before putting 'em away either. The oil had solidified to grease
Hello folks. I paid $800 for my S&W 1006 here in Canada. It has Hogue grips and I had it Duracoated. As commented here in other posts, it's built like a tank and has ate every round I have fired through it. I absolutely love the thing.
Picked mine up yesterday for $450 (1 mag,no box, no papers). Looked to have fired a box of ammo and then put up, maybe a couple of boxes(there was no slide or barrel wear. I tried to haggle the shop down, even walked. But I went back and bought it a couple hours later. I may have eventually found one cheaper, but not in as good of shape.
In SF Bay Area, 10mm series (1006,1026,1076) prices depend on condition A LOT. I have seen TRUE NIB pistols bring as much as 1200-1300, while just solid shooters with some wear sold for half that.
