What are the 686 CS-1 revolvers worth?

I have two of the S&W Customs Service (CS-1) revolvers. One has the 3" barrel and one has the 4" barrel. Both are in good mechanical shape but have the expected holster wear. I need to sell some stuff and these are on the short list of items that I may sell. I don't want to be outrageous on the price but I also don't want to "give" them away. I'd appreciate any advice on pricing these pistols. I can borrow a camera this weekend to post pics if that will help in judging the value. Thanks.

I sold my 3" CS-1, LNIB with box and docs, last year for $850.

The 4" does not seem to be in as much demand.

IMHO $850 to $950 for a 3", $650 to $750 for a 4" assuming LNIB conditions on both for the higher end asking price. Good luck. Hope this helps. Regards 18DAI.

Here are pics of the three guns that I'm considering selling. They are, top to bottom, a 7-shot 686 with 6" barrel, a 4" CS-1 686, and a 3" CS-1 686. I can find the value of the 7-shot 686 by looking on GunBroker but I've had a hard time finding a value on the two CS-1 revolvers because there just aren't that many around. I've included close-ups on the two CS-1s so you can see their condition a little better to help me out with values. I appreciate the feedback on these revolvers. Thanks.

I haven't sold either of them yet because I haven't really listed either of them yet. I've been trying to decide which one(s) I want to sell. I hate to get rid of any of them but I'll end up selling at least one of them so I'm trying to decide which one(s) to sell.

The one that would be hardest to replace is the 3" CS-1. That's the one I would hold onto. You probably know this already by several emails from members asking about it.

Both the other guns are also desirable - the 4" CS-1 will bring a slight premium over a standard 4" 686 (I would think it would sell for about $500) and the 6" 686+ is no lock and 7 shot so it would be in the $450 price range.

Of course - gun prices have been wacked the past couple of months - so I could be wrong, but around here, it's the black rifles that are most effected.

Values I don't know, but the good thing is they are all pre lock. I'd sell the 6 inch first. You need to sell the 4 inch CS-1 to someone that already has the 3 inch and wants to collect both barrel lengths. The 3 inch is the last one I'd sell.

Edited to add that I just listed the pre-lock 6-inch 7-shot on GunBroker starting at $525. If it doesn't sell at that price, I'll try it a little lower. Thanks again for the advice and info guys.
