I buy quality holsters whenever I find them cheap. It doesn't matter if I have the appropriate gun or can't even tell what they fit. That probably explains why I have so much leather in the house.
I was going through a stash of holsters yesterday and came across this Milt Sparks IWB. I think it's an early Summer special. I probably paid $5-$10 dollars for it at a swap meet or gun show.
I decided to see if I could determine what it was made for. I thought it might fit a 3" 1911, but it''s way too loose. It was made for a semi-auto with a round trigger guard, but I tried my square trigger guard 6906 anyway. Too long...
I was thinking maybe a 59XX/69XX series gun, but I don't own one. My .45 CQB was nearby, so decide to check it out. Bingo, it's a perfect fit! I don't carry or shoot the gun, but it's nice to have an appropriate holster.
There's a lesson to this story...
If you come across a good holster for pennies on the dollar, buy it. There is one exception... If you live near me and come across some nice unknown gun leather, please keep walking!
