What are these front sights?

I have a couple of 686's - one has these front sights installed, requiring maching of the front sight area for installation; adjustable for 4 different target distances by a rotary thumbwheel that clicks into place for each distance. The other is simply machined the same way and does NOT have the sight installed. I'd like to find one. There does not seem to be a name on the existing front sight anywhere. Can anyone identify these?

Those front sights were made for use on the Silhouette Range. I don't remember if they are aftermarket or OEM by S&W. Someone here will know. BTW, they worked like a charm. .............. Big Cholla

On the 686 they were for PPC. On the 29/629 they were for metallic silhouette. They could be adjusted for four different distances and locked in place with the set screw and then be able to return to the pre-set via the thumb wheel.

I don't know who made them. A call or letter to S&W may garner the answer.

Adios,

I have sent an email off to Smith and Wesson as suggested. These adjustable front sights must be made by them as I can find them nowhere else. I sure hope that they still stock them as I have a 686 that has had the barrel machined for a set but the last owner decided to remove them and install a red dot sight... did not come with the adjustable front mechanical sight and I would like to put a set into place. Thanks for responses; please keep them coming. We will get there!
