What brand name products do you purchase over the generic

canned veggies. I learned a long time ago the big companies buy stuff canned by small concerns...they use tasters to purchase(2 friends were buyers for big name companies) and then canned soups suck.
I buy
Fritos/Cheetos Lays PC
Hellmans
PEPSI
Breyer's Ice cream
mostly McCormick spices

Just about everything. I am old enough and financially set enough to buy the best. Of course, you are probably talking about food and medicine. I am talking tires, tools, guns, ammo, and the like. Will walk home before I use a tool made in China.

A little off course, but I like yellow green Gatorade when I'm hiking and picked up an 8 pak at the store yesterday. It turns out it's a promotion for a new flavor? It's lime-cucumber! Where did they find that focus group and boy does that leave a weird aftertaste lol

Thank you for the warning.

Before anyone gets to over zealous on name brands, let me give you
some info from my true life experiences.
I sold laboratory equipment/furniture/and supplies for an 18 year period
out of 20 years. During this time I dealt with a wide variety of industries.
Food stuffs being one of those, I have seen the lines stopped long enough
to change out the paper labels on the labeling machine then start up again, very same product just different company name.
Maybe the best story I have is a pork packing plant that provided Kosher
cooking oils for the East Coast market. I you have ever been in a meat
packing plant you know after a short time the floors, stairs, rails, every
thing has a fine film of aerosol fat coating. I get a call from the lab manager saying they are setting up a Kosher lab and all new equipment
must be purchased including funiture, glassware chemicals and anything
used in the lab, good sale for me.
When I arrived at the plant the local Rabi was there, after he approved
every thing the lab manager handed him a 100 dollar bill and he left.
But he came by once per month and spent about 15 minutes, got another
100 and left.
I often wondered what the people on the East Coast would have thought
about all the aerosol pork fat floating around in their Kosher product.
Another story on gasoline additives comes to mind, that will have to wait.

Triscuit Roasted Garlic, as Aldi does not have them. Aldi Wheat Thins are quite acceptable though.

I have a few too...

Kraft Mac & Cheese
Tillamook cheeses
Barrister Blend coffee beans from Big Sky Coffee Roasters (Hamilton, MT)
Adams Crunchy peanut butter
Coke and Pepsi sodas (brand varies between flavors)
Jones Soda for non-diet vanilla and cream flavors
Mezzetta Golden Greek Paperoncini (I prefer the wrinkled old looking ones - I actually trade the firm smooth ones with a buddy that doesn't care for the old wrinkled ones)

.
~50 years ago I did some engineering studies in several canneries - fruit, vegetable and pet food.
One major brand had 5 distinctly different products coming from 5 production lines.
From these 5, they shipped 105 different labels out the door.
Until an order arrived to be filled, the bare cans were palletized in "bright stack" and stored in enormous warehouses, one almost a mile long, with pallets of cans stacked 21 ft high then pulled FIFO to be labelled, sometimes with the factory's own brands, but more often with some of the 100 others.

Bells or Crystal Louisiana Hot Sauce
Stella Artois for Pilsner
IPA's otherwise...Elysian Brewery's Space Dust#1
Honda or Stihl power for everything except autos
Toyota for everything automotive
Crown Royal
Mexican Coca-Cola (like a trip back to the 60's)
Ritz Crackers, Trisquits, Cheezits (no substitutes)
Kraft yaller musturd
Top Tier Meds because that is what the VA provides
Gotta agree about Q-Tips, even for cleaning weapons
Until I found out about Snap-On I only bought Craftsman Tools.
BMW when it comes to motorcycles
