Over the years I've accumulated and used probably 30 different moulds.

My favorite cast bullets are for 30 caliber rifles, although I've cast bullets for the 30 Remington to the 35 Whelen. All of these are gas check designs.

Revolver and pistol moulds cover everything from the 32/20 to the 45 Colt and just about everything in between. These are all plain base designs.

For obsolete calibers I've cast a lot of 405 and 500 grain bullets for my old 45/70 Trapdoor Springfields as well as 425 grain bullets for the 50/70.

A few years ago I did an inventory on bullet moulds, 67 at last count! From a 45 grain 22 cal with GC to a 425 50 cal. Largest groups are 38 special, 45 Colt, and 45-70/458 (the biggest is a 540 Flat Nose w GC, Have drilled a 5/16" hole in the side and made small hammers out of them too!)

An NOE clone of the H&G #68 for 45 ACP loads.
NOE K31 & 311299 bullet for subsonic 300 BLK loads
Lee 312-155 GC'd for supersonic 300 BLK loads.
NOE 124 TC for 9mm
MIHEC 147 RN for subsonic 9mm.

Those are my favorite ones. I've got dozens of others that I've tested in everything from 32 ACP to 450 Bushmaster.

It changes over the years. Lately, mostly 380/9mm bullets for use in 9mm, 38 Special, and 357 guns. Been using the Lee ~95 grain round and flat nose molds, 124 grain TLTC, and the good old 148 grain wadcutter. And the Lee 105 grain SWC. Also dabbling with Lyman 45 and Lee 55 grain bullets for the hornet and 223 bolt action.
In years past I've shot many gas checked 30 caliber bullets.

I cast for just about everything from .30 Lugar to 45-70. I never had much success accuracy-wise with .22 and 6.5mm cast bullets so didn’t spend any time experimenting with them. Most of the molds live in an old Craftsman roll-around tool chest. I’ve got a few Lee gang moulds too for casting pistol bullets. They get a lot of use and produce really nice pistol bullets and are reasonably priced.

The photo below are all 500s, 1/2 inch in diameter [eek]. The little one on the left weighs 450 drains, while the wad cutter on the right tips the scale at 725 grains

My last smelt. 6lb ers 534 lbs in the stack and 200 even in the bucket.

I’ve accumulated over 200 molds in 52 years of casting! Everything from .22 caliber up to .625 caliber and everything in between.

Seriously too many to list, but I cast for every rifle and pistol I have. In fact, all I shoot jacketes wise are 150 gr fmj for the M1 (although I do run cast through them) 110 fmj for the carbine (but also run cast there as well) and a very few sp hunting bullets.

Off of the top of my head, I can't list each of the individual molds that I own, but I can list the calibers.

For rifle, I have molds for: 270 WCF, 40-65, and 45-70.
For pistol, I have molds for: 380 (1), 9mm (2), 38/357 (6+), 40 (1), 41 (2), 44 (5), 45ACP (3), and 36 RB.

Fortunately, for my gas checked bullets, I started stockpiling gas checks (357 & 277) about 3 years ago.

I used to cast 230 Gr. 45 acp, 45 Colt and 148 gr. 38 spl. WC's.

I have long since given up casting due to the toxicity and hassle! To me the risk simply wasn't worth the savings. I have been using Polymer coated lead bullets now - clean, no lube, no smoke, easy peasy!

I have over 60 molds from Lyman, RCBS, NOE, Accurate, LBT and NEI. I have cut down to casting 22, 243, 7mm, 30 rifle, 32 pistol, 35/9mm rifle and pistol, 40, 44, 45, 50 and 54 calibers.

I use home made lubes and powder coat. I used to figure 100-125 lbs of lead shot a year. Now it's less than 50. My blood levels have been between 2 and 4.

I have a date with my lead pot and the Lee 2 cavity 124 grain .356 truncated cone tumble lube boolit. I can shoot them unsized and tumble lubed or powder coated if the gun demands a little more girth. Very versatile boolit.

Lately it's the oddball cartridges: heeled bullets for the .38 and .41 Colt cartridges or Limey numbers like .310 Cadet, .380 revolver, .455 Webley, 577-450 M-H and .577 Snider.

A hand me down Ideal 31141 mould and a Lee loader kept a Model 94 shooting in the late Fifties.
