Nikon D300. Originally with 18-200mm lens, but that went to pot recently. Replaced it with the Nikon 24-120mm. Much better lens. Nikon's had all kinds of problems with the 18-200. Takes a while for its focus to suddenly stop working, but they all seem to do it eventually. Avoid the Nikon 18-200mm.

Here are a few photos I've taken with my Nikon D300:

Nikon D200 with a 35mm f/1.8 lens
I like this camera because it is both a "point and shoot" in full auto, or totally manual.
The brand of camera, Nikon, Pentax, Canon--it does not make much difference in picture quality.
I went with Nikon because I had a collection of lenses from my film days.

I haven't played with cameras much at all in years. But I recently
started messing with trail cameras and bought one of those a couple
of months ago. Then I kind of got hooked playing with them, and
decided I wanted one with a better quality picture.
So I decided to build one. I bought a Sony DSC-W290 point and
shooter off fleabay a couple of days ago, and plan to use it for both
a hand held, and also in a case as a trail cam at times.
It's 12.1 MP, and will do 720p HD video. Not the best in the west, but
if it comes out as good as Bulleye's DSC-N2 I'll be happy. Those are
good for a point and shooter. The DSC-W290 also uses a Zeiss lens.
I'm still waiting for mine, so the jury is still out. They just shipped it
today. I bought a 16 GB memory stick for it off fleabay also, so will
have plenty of room for video and lots of stills.

I use a Canon 50D with a few lenses, including one L lens. I would like to try the Leica M9 though.

Beautiful photos Gatofeo! I love lightning shots. I hope to get a few next storm season, now that I have a decent dSLR.

I started shooting in 1995 with a Pentax Spotmatic (think K1000 with screw mount lenses); a couple years later I found a Pentax MEsuper in a pawn shop and started shooting with it (K-mount lenses), and finally at the beginning of this year I purchased a Pentax K20d (14.6 mega pixel) digital SLR since I would be able to use my older lenses on this body.

Playing with the W-290 today trying to get used to it.
It's no high end SLR, but for a point and shoot not too bad.
The HD video is pretty danged good, and the SD video is good too.
About as good as the SD JVC camcorder I sometimes use.
Got a deal on this first one.. Less than $100 on fleabay, but was
missing all it's extras. But the camera looks almost like brand new.
I think these were all store returns or something.
My other one will be here anytime today and hope it's as good as
this one. I bought both from the same place.
I paid $128 for the second one, and $86.99 for the first. "plus tax".
If the second one is as good as the first it will be a pretty good deal
being as they retail for $229 in most stores. Two for the price of one.
I think it'll make a heck of a trail cam.
These are just some flowers in the backyard, and the trusty yard
cat.. I bet it looks green compared to some of you northern types
areas right now.. :/

Edit.. They dropped off the 2nd cam when I was typing a few min ago.
The 2nd one is even better. Looks like brand new. Not a scratch.. Just
a few fingerprints on the LCD.. I tested it too. Working fine.
And it does have all the extras the first one was missing. "cables, books,
CD, etc.. Yee-haw!
Now if I can just get my money back from the clown that sent me a non
working, and pretty much proven fake sony mem pro duo card a couple
of days ago.. I had to go to Fry's last night to buy another new one
being as the one he sent was no bueno. :(

I've been using a little Canon point and shoot, six megapixels, for several years. Really like the "in-your-pocket" convenience and it shoots some nice pix.

But a few days ago I bought a "super-zoom" camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 / FZ35. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 / FZ35 review: introduction | Cameralabs

This is a class of camera that I did not know existed. It has an 18X optical zoom, but the lense is fixed, so no interchangabble lenses. Some "super-zooms" go up to 28X, or on this one you can buy a screw-on lens attachment that will double the zoom. Can do close up photos, too. 12 megapixels. Has video functions, anti-shake, etc., etc.

I got it so that I can take pix of my youngest son from the stands at swim meets, but, in addition to sports, it would be good for someone who wanted to take wildlife photos but who didn't want to spend major bucks on a high end SLR and telephoto lens. This thing was about $400.
