What Can I say? I'm weak.

I've often said I couldn't decide rather I like the Model 19 or the Model 15 more. I'm still not sure, but it appears the Model 19's are edging ahead on points. I'm up to four to one, 19's favor now, after picking this one up yesterday.

It's a -3 from about 1970. It has a few flaws, a little muzzle wear and such, but has really nice trigger, and locks up tight as new. It was kinda funky when I got it home, but a few minutes work with Flitz and Ren Wax made it presentable for mixed company.

A model 19 and a model 15 were in the shop case. The model 15 was bragging about what a wonderful gun he was.....The model 19 simply replied, "Everything you can do, I can do better."

What Can I say? I'm weak.

I know the feeling. I have several. One 6" 19-5, Two 4" 19-2 & 19-4, and Three 2 1/2" 19-3, 19-5, 19-7. The dash 3 I just picked up this past Saturday. Here is a few pictures. Notice it came with target hammer and trigger. I've already fired it and it's a dandy!

I carried a K frame 38/357 the entire time I wore a badge (with the exception of +/- 6 weeks, long story). I still have several M&Ps and a Model 15-3. I don’t believe I own a 357 S&W Magnum. Everything I need in a 36 caliber revolver is easily handled by the 38 S&W cartridge.

You need a few more 38s!

Given a choice between a Model 15 and a Model 19, I'd take the Model 19, but only because it allows an even greater number of ammo options.

If your collecting you need the k38’s too? I stayed away from the weak m19.

I never really gave the 15 much of a look. The 19 just seems to have bigger seeds, if you know what I mean. Bought my first Smith 40 years ago(19-4 4 inch, full target)new in box. She still looks like the day I bought her. She has a few cousins keeping her company. Two thumbs way up.

How do you feed all them .38's and .357's?

If asking in general, I prefer full power wadcutter ammunition, a 150ish DEWC at 900 fps. Or a 160 grain SWC at about 1100 fps in my Heavy Duty.

How do you feed all them .38's and .357's?

I reload both 38's and 357's. I've got a couple of coffee cans full of each around, but to tell you the truth, I don't shoot much anymore. When/if the Covid restrictions are lifted, I hope that will change.

I've shot mostly 38's in the past, but as I've added more 357 guns, I've started loading more 357 (light magnum loads...paper doesn't take a lot of killing) ammo. I've got plenty of brass, bullets, primers and such to last me for a while. Probably wouldn't last some of these guys all weekend.
