I've got my card through my local bank.
I just pay the bill when I cash my checks.
It has no yearly fee, but only .25% cash back.
I keep hearing about people getting 3% or more.
Anyway, how can I get a card that I can pay locally?

NSL..... .25%...2% or 40% cash back, to me is like having your wife come back with her arms full of stuff she bought when she comes in the door and says.."Honey, I saved us a lot today, I only spend $3000.00 instead of $4000.00, these things were on sale"

On your credit card, what counts is what is the yearly interest rate they charge you for your charges.

Pay locally? Can't help there, but just about every Credit card issuer prefers that you do everything on line. So get the best card for you, and do electronic bill payment? This has worked for me for years now.

My Capital One is my go to card now.

They gave me a 1 year fee interest charge on unpaid balance, 3% 2% 1% cash back on purchases. (look it up)
I've already cashed in over $400 in 6 months for the cash back benefit...
They provide free credit reports and notification service.
They also gave me a very high credit limit.

I use it for everything for the cash back benefit and I keep the balance within reach for a quick payoff when the 0% promo expires.

Give it a look!

I'm enjoying my Citi card and CS has been great. Decent rewards on dining/entertainment and free FICO.

I use a Bank of America card. It has a cash back feature, but I figured out some time ago that I get a better percentage if I buy gift cards with my points. They offer Amazon gift cards, and since I spend hundreds every year at Amazon, that's like cash. I just track my points, and as soon as I have enough I order another $100 Amazon gift card, credit it to my Amazon account, and keep going.

I also use a Bank of America credit card, 3% on gas, 2% on food & groceries (I never charge any), and 1% on anything else. I let it build up until it gets to about $100 then I cash in and put in my Gun Fund. If they still had a branch of the bank here I could have paid locally, but they removed all physical banking from my city, I just pay on line, and never never ever pay an interest fee. (If you can't pay in full when the bill comes you don't need it).

I also use Capital One. I get 1.5% cash back on all purchases. Early this year I bought a new Glock 43 and holster with my rewards from the last year. I pay everything I do with it and pay it off monthly. My wife does the same with hers and we enjoy all the benefits with none of the negatives. No annual fees or anything. They pay me to use their card.
