Nice revolver, but IMO you overpaid by about $250.00 for a fairly common gun. As long as you're happy, you'll forget about the price. Enjoy it.

Very nice revolver! and with all the goodies and rare magna's. Not familiar with the price range on this model. The turn line looks a little heavy IMHO for a never fired piece. So the $64K question, are you going to fire it or make it a safe queen?

Yes

No, actually I will decide that, once I have it and compare, put it next to all of the contenders I have. I believe I will shoot it. Take good care of it, but shoot it.

I want to shoot model 27's in 3.5,4,5 and 6" and get a feel for the differences.

It will be awhile because I am in California and I can only take possession of one gun every 30 days.

Very nice gun but it's fairly common as someone else stated and it's
quite a bit more money than I would have payed. But I didn't buy it,
you did and if you're happy that's good. I wouldn't expect to get my
money back any time soon if I were you whether you shoot it or not.
The problem with buying mint guns for shooters is that it's like buying
a brand new car, you lose a few thou on a new car when you drive it
off the lot. But as we all know that doesn't deter buyers, including me,
from buying new. One thing is all too true with guns sold on GB. When
guns are extensively hyped by the seller as this one was and usually
sold with reserve they do sell pretty high. Creative writing is rewarded.

As some have already stated, you paid a lot more than many of us would have for this beautiful gun.
Maybe if it were a 4" it would be worth closer to what you paid.
It is yours now, so hope you enjoy it.

I agree with those who have stated the price seems a bit high. However, about fifteen years ago I was at a gun show and was offered a NIB pre 27, 3 1/2 barrel, box, docs, everything. Seller wanted $400 which was "too high". It's not how much you pay, it's when.

Too much? If it is really like new, who can say? No current production revolver, by any maker, can compare with it, IMHO.

Also, you live in CA, and from what I understand, guns there go for a good 20% or so more than the rest of the lower 48. I wouldn't know if you could find one for less, especially in CA, but even if you did, how much time and gas money would you have had to spend?

How did you get that 27-2 shipped to CA when it's not on the approved Roster?

The 30 day rule only applies to new guns from a dealer. You can take possession of as many used guns as you like in a month from a private party or consignment. These must be transferred through an FFL of course and held for 10 days.

Very nice.......you paid a huge Calf. premium........... IMHO.

Around here nice Smiths for sale are rare...... and it's not my cup of tea..... I'd have quite at $1000-1,100.....but that's me...... so enjoy.... look forward to your group shot down the road.

Yeah that CA premium.

There's a 27-2 3.5" at a local store that has me thinking. $750. Maybe 95% condition w/ no box. Might jump...

Beautiful carbona bluing and quite a impressive piece overall. I personally would never ask about the price aspect as it is a moot point and someone is always looking to give you their opinion that you payed to much and rain on your parade. If you bought it it must have been the right price.....period
