What do you do that would be considered cheap?

I still haunt the thrift stores that sell clean well used clothes, I haven't bought new clothes in many years. My mother in law found out I liked a particular type of colored t-shirt, she bought be just about every color they sold, I have worn those shirts for 20 years at least, some are getting frayed at the collar, some have burn hole from bad old days or a slight stain from something or other otherwise perfectly suitable for every day wear since I retired. I have another set of t-shirts and sweat shirts I wear while down at the rifle range, same story, worn and comfortable. I'm still wearing model 1951 military field trousers during cooler months at the range, I found out how comfortable they were in while in the Army. I liked them so much I wore them during the winter months as daily wear while in Germany, I had a job that kept me out of the eye of the brass and my Chief that ran the motorpool was only concerned about me doing my job, he didn't care if I was in field gear.

For a kid's wedding I went to a thrift store looking for dress shoes. They had a pair in decent shape 1/2 size too big. OK, that'll do.
My wife wandered over to the suits and said, " look at this one." It was a charcoal gray wool Nordstrom suit that was just barely starting to show wear, and it fit!

I drive older vehicles.
A 2005 Honda CR-V I paid cash for several years ago that had 125,000 miles on it.
A Ford 2010 Crew Cab 4WD I also paid cash for a few years ago that had about 160,000 miles on it.
Have had to spend a couple thousand on each for repairs but both run just fine.
No monthly payments and I save a bundle on insurance each year compared to what it would cost to insure something 4 years old or less.
I also buy some of my shirts at thrift stores. Last year I got a nice semi-dress shirt that was unused, and still had a department store price tag of $65. I got it for $3.
Some of the money I save I put toward good quality boots when needed.
